We recently had the privilege of putting together a custom build for professional boxer Conor Benn and his Mercedes C63 S Convertible. As part of a wider range of upgrades it was essential that the steering wheel both complimented the vehicle in its new state, as well as improving on the quality and drivability of the existing wheel and vehicle as a whole.
After an in-depth consultation on the build, Conor decided to go all out, upgrading from the now outdated 2015 steering wheel to the latest OEM based 2021 unit. The specification chosen includes a full carbon fibre compliment, topped off with red alcantara and red details to match the brake callipers and red 'S' badge on the tailgate. The great part of this build is that the wheel itself is not all show and no go... The steering wheel is fully functional meaning all touch and pressure buttons work including voice commands, telephone and the favourites button.
Topped off with the LCD vehicle display and LED rpm lights built into the carbon fibre core, this build is honestly one of a kind. The addition of the LCD unit adds extra functionality for the driver, in that it shows vital engine and vehicle data as well as providing a visible reference for gear changes when the vehicle is in motion, which is a great addition for fast road and track driving.
